I forgot to post one of my favorite projects!! Although it's almost time for the holidays, flashback to Halloween.
Finding ways to get high school kids in a festive mood can be tough. Fortunately everyone loves clay. Most introduction classes don't touch on clay, but I like to do at least one big project a semester. This project focused around Halloween time and creatures.. Students could either make a creature that looked alive (eyes, hands, etc.) or make a work just inspired by creatures (tentacles, horns, etc.) The outcome was pretty good! I got a WIDE variety. Next year I want to try making larger draped bowls with cut out designs, we will see..
